High price arose the dissatisfaction: the Apple dropped the prices of the USB-C and peripherals
On November 5 morning news, by providing USB-C interface only, the new MacBook of the Apple has caused inconvenience to many users. In an effort to head off major discontent, the Apple decided to lower the price of USB-C adaptor and the cable by a last-minute decision.
The users of new MacBook can connect all the peripheral equipments by the USB-C adapter only. Peripheral equipments including: mobile HDD, displayer, keyboard,mouse and the device to integrate all the interfaces of USB, DisplayPort, FireWire and Lightning.
Apple also announced that all the third USB-C peripherals are marked down about 40% at most. Including USB-C card reader of SanDisk, USB-C emitter of Belkin and the USB-C mobile HDD from G-Technology and LaCie.
The prices of Apple’s new USB-C accessories:
– Adaptor, from $90 to $9.
– Cable (one meter ), from $25 to $19
– Cable (2 meters), from $35 to $29.
– Digital video’s multiport adaptor, from $69 to $49.
– VGA multiport adaptor, from $69 to $49.
– Adaptor applied to Thunderbolt 3, from $49 to $29.
– Multiport adaptor with HDMI,USB and USB-C, from $69 to $29
– Multiport adaptor with VGA, USB and USB-C, from $69 to 49.
The announcement declared that users,especially the professional users who rely on the traditional interface to complete task, will face a period of transition. And the Apple will offer them help to adapt the newest technology gradually and accelerate the process of new ecosystem.
The Apple also said:” At the end of this year, we will reduce the prices of all peripherals of the USB-C and Thunderbolt, as well as the USB-C adaptor and cable.”
Furthermore,the Apple gives a discount with the 4K and 5K displays . The Apple, have teamed up with LG, released 4K and 5K displays of LG UltraFine, and price of them was cut down to $525 and $974.
This measure not only can help boost sales of the new MacBook Pro, but also benefit the manufacturer to retail USB-C products through the Apple retail store, including Belkin, LaCie, SanDisk and so on.
